Overview
I began as an English teacher in China, and learned to see design not as making artifacts but as creating systems that help people grow, participate, and act. I translated that into lectures, workshops, and curricula for graduate students and professionals. I have taught at Stanford d.school, UC Berkeley, Rutgers Business School, Ashesi University in Ghana, and the Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts. I treat each session as a designed experience, balancing clarity, rigor, and invitation while meeting learners where they are. Teaching at the d.school with David Kelley observing was a full-circle moment. The same principles I use to design products and systems, trust, iteration, narrative, and care, are the ones I use to teach, and they shape how I lead teams and facilitate alignment today.
